Merik started their journey in psychology at Eureka College in central Illinois. While there they gained an interest in working with children. They are currently studying child and adolescent counseling at The Chicago School of Professional Psychology. They stumbled into the world of ABA entirely on accident, but immediately fell in love with the kids in their clinic and now intend on specializing in psychotherapy for Autistic individuals.They are passionate about children’s rights and autonomy, and bring that into their work as much as possible to give their clients the most dignity and self advocacy as possible. 

When not working or studying, they like to expand their language knowledge,speaking English and Spanish as well as learning Japanese, ASL, and Russian as a personal challenge. They also enjoy survival and resource management games and try to play with their family at least once a week.
